I don't think its just London, lots of cities around the UK and the world are just the same, they all have bad areas and good areas, cities the world over are the same.

Because it is a big city. There is so much commotion in big cities than in smaller ones, however, as for London, I think whatever you say, it still remains one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Which areas of the city do you find to be filthy and chaotic? If you had elaborated clearly, maybe you could have helped the London council into taking some action. Otherwise, you merely stand out as one of those critics who enjoys to criticise for no particular reason.

It does change; from person to person. Some people find London filthy and chaotic, some find it beautiful and exciting. Its all in the mind baby.

Try Lisbon, Bombay, Paris or Rio de Janeiro for filthy. It's been said before, it depends how you look at it.
All of the above can also be considered as the most beautiful cities in the world.
