Use some common sense. I don't even use a double blade razor. By the way, there is no eight blade razor.

Hah....nice troll. Really, if you were missing skin, you wouldn't be *here* fiddling with Yahoo Answers, you'd be at the hospital getting stitches at least, to get things re-attached. ;)
Having said that....you do have to have a light touch with some of these razors, especially those ones that *sprout* a blade on the back facing the other way (huh? WHY??). While having a front-mounted pivot hinge ahead of the blades makes them safer it doesn't make them totally *idiot-proof*. I do remember early on nearly cutting a chunk of flesh out of my upper-lip with a Mach 3 before learning my lesson....light touch, let the pivot hinge, the sharpness of the blades, and where applicable, the *battery* do the work.
Or....if you really *really* cannot be bothered, just invest in an electric. Some have more of a learning curve than others (rotaries in particular), but at least with those you will *never* get more than a pin-prick cut (again, rotary razors are a bit more difficult to get the hang of). Of course you'll never quite be *smooth* either.
Just my plug nickel, thanks for your time and the points! :)
