thats just some communites are and only concentrate on fixing the streets that have been fixed more that 3 times in the same year, instead of trying to help the homeless. There are also not too many places where one can go or there simply is not much awareness.☺

I recently went to a soup kitchen and worked with my school. I think that many people feel bad and look the other way towards poverty. Yes it is very existant. People look away because they dont want to have to feel bad for the homeless people. There are also many stereotypes of homeless that i think people should go work in a soup kitchen or homeless shelter to clear up. Homeless people are not all mentally ill and they arent all mean an nasty. They just long for people to look them in the eyes and call them by their names instead of looking away. In the tenderloin of SF, California the tenderloin(very poor neighborhood where lot of homeless people live) it is surrounded by very rich areas and the homeless are very much so neglected. The one refuge they have in the tenderloin is a church where they are able to sleep in during the day and they get food next door.

I think that most people are so concerned with their own and their family's welfare that they do not even worry about the homeless. I know that when I feel down, or that things are not going as they should be, I remind myself that at least I have a home to go to while many don't.

Where have you been? As many as 75-80 % want to be homeless. What about all the soup kitchens all over the country. Half of them are drug addicts, alcoholics and mentally ill.

My city/county has joined together with the Catholic Church, several Prodistant Churches, and corporations to remove the homless by providing shelters.
I belive they have lessened the "Red Tape" and this allows more ppl who are homeless to go to the shelters. Additionally, ppl patrol the streets looking for them.

Communities usually care, but they need financial assistance from the government that they are not receiving. They should start with building more government housing which is alot cheaper than running a shelter. And they should have more training programs for people who want to work.

Why do we give money to other countries when there are U.S. citizens right here, starving and homeless?
I don't know the answer to any of it!

I don't trust the homeless.
I don't like the homeless.
And to be honest, I don't give a damn about the homeles; if they won't help themselves, I won't do anything to help them either.
