Sims 2 pets- am i able to have kids if i have 2 cats (m+f) (the one cat is pregnant)?

I tried putting both sims in the hot tub and delecting cuddle then all that comes up is "woohoo" or "kiss". When I have both sims relaxing on the bed and having them cuddle it does not have the option "try for baby. My sims are married. Help!!!

Then she's already pregnant, or the cat is pregnant with enough kittens to meet the maximum house recidency level.
