first you need to add the 3n+2n on the left. To explain doing this, you would say that you combined like terms. Now the problem is 5n=7+4n. Subtract the 4n from both sides. (5n-4n=7+4n-4n). Now the problem should be n=7 because 5n-4n is n and subtracting the 4n from the right side of the problem cancels out the +4n.That leaves n=7, which is the final answer.

First u have to combine like terms on the left side
3n+2n=5n
so the new equation is:
5n=7+4n
then get the variable to one side (in this case subract 5n and 4n to keep n positive)
when you get the n by itself the answer will be n=7
if the problem was changed to something like 3n+2n=7+3n
you would have to do the same and get 5n=7+3n
but when u subract to get the varibale by itself u will have to divide the other "n" s away to get what the only n equals
so it would look like this
5n-3n=7
2n=7
2n/2=7/2
n=7/2
remember what u do on one side u always do on the other

3n + 2n = 7 + 4n
move the +4n to the left and make it -4n as it's passed over the =
3n + 2n - 4n = 7
add together all those n's 3+2-4 = 1
1n = 7
so n=7

3n and 2n are like-terms so you can add them together.
Resulting equation: 5n=7+4n
Subtract 4n from both sides to get a value for n.
Resulting Equation: 1n=7
1n=n so n=7
If n isn't just a variable, and it has a special meaning, disregard this answer. If this is an algebra question, then there you go.

3n+2n=7+4n stating original question
5n = 7 + 4n adding 3n and 2n
5n - 4n = 7 moving 4n to the other side
n = 7 s subtracting 4n from 5n
