You can't wire a fog light to a side light circuit, a fog light must ONLY be used with headlights in conditions of poor visibility, also the wiring to the sidelights will not be heavy enough to carry the extra current of a foglight.

Fog lights should always be wired through a relay to avoid overloading the circuits. There cheap to buy from ,say, Halfords and come with a simple diagram. However, you are not supposed to use them on the road without dipped headlights. If you wire into theside light you should fail the MOT.

you start from two wires from the switch, one connects to the fog light, then from the fog light to the live on the side lights and the opposite wire from the switch to the earth.
