There aren't women's studies because women are perceived as stupid; there are women's studies because the entire rest of history is the study of rich white men. That's why there are also things like Black History Month. It's an attempt to create a fuller picture of society by addressing the views and history of the vast majority of people who aren't rich white men.
Men also aren't stupider than women. There are things that women do better at than men, just as there are things that men do better than women- on the whole. Generally, though, the greater differences are within the genders, not between them. The difference between the smartest and the stupidest man in any given subject is greater than the difference between the average man and the average woman in that subject. There just isn't that much difference between the sexes.

Actually, men's studies is one of the fastest growing subcategories in sociology over the past decade. Ask anyone involved in the social sciences and they'll tell you how academia has been flooded with long inquiruies into the meanings of masculinity. Partly, men's studies is an offshoot of women's studies in which patriarchy is looked at from a male perspective. On the other hand, men's studies has been co-opted by men who look at the downside of the social construction of masculinity.
So, there is a field of men's studies.

Well, a smart-assed question, but one that should be looked at anyhow.
There is no real men's studies, except as an extention of women's studies. This really isn't men's studies at all, but men being take in by the 'women's studies doctrine' that is being poured into the heads of young, impressionable university students who are eager to impress their prof.
There DOES need to be a ligitimate men's studies program. One that will raise the level of dialogue (or even create a dialogue) regarding mens issues out there. Issues like:
1. Men's health. -- men suffer from and die at a greater rate than women for the vast majority of causes of death.
2. Domestic violence (men as aggresors AND victims) --The National Center for Victims of Crime says that that as many as 45 percent of females and 43 percent of males reported being the victim of violence from dating partners at least once.
3. Survivors of sexual abuse -- Experts believe that male children are sexually abused as much as, or almost as much as, female children. And women, as well as men, are perpetrators.
4. Fatherhood -- What can we do to overcome obstacles that keep fathers away from their children?
5. Men/fathers in the media -- how men are portrayed ad incompetants and idiots in the media.
6. Boys and education -- Males make up only 40% of full-time graduate students, 46% of full-time undergraduate students and 30% of part-time undergraduates. Boys are more likely to be diagnosed as having ADHD and medicated.
So much needs to be examined, but I sincerely doubt that it will anytime in the near future, as any legitimate men's issue is constantly met with scorn and ridicule, and the concern is minimized.

Many men keep asking this question, and I often give the same answer. The reason there are 'Women's Studies' and no "Men's Studies' is to appease feminists. Otherwise, feminists would get their panties in a bunch, and their bras on fire.

I don't think men are "stupider" than women in general. It just depends on what the subject of conversation is.
If the subject of conversation is women, then we really have no clue. We can't figure out why you are so into shoes. We can't figure out why it bothers you so much when the toilet seat is up. We can't figure out why you make such a big deal out of a little hole in a sock or underwear. And when you try to drop one of those subtle hints, it can be interpreted one of 5 different ways, so we don't bother to read anything into it. And your sexual fantasies have nothing to do with sex. They are about waterfalls and riding horses down the beach, and candles, etc. We just don't get you.

You spoke too soon. Check out the link for an example.
(Personally, I think women's and men's studies are silly fields, but that wouldn't be a very popular opinion.)

~~~I dont think that men are less intelligent,,,,I think that it is a known fact that women speek aprox 20,000 words per day. And men speek aprox 5,000 per day. Women are more emotional,,, they get a natural high from conversation, where as men are more visual,,,they dont need to convers as much as women. But really,,,,,men are not stupid,,,,,,
