I wouldn't say it's an abortion/miscarriage, as it was never an embryo in the first place (this requires fertilization). Periods are necessary in female humans of reproductive age to shed (for the most part) uterine lining, whereas eggs are gametes which have not been fertilized, so I don't believe that eggs are periods. Just as well, as I'm having egg-fried rice for supper.

Since when has it necessarily been an unfertilised embryo - have you never eaten an egg with that bit of sperm in it? Nearly everybody else has.

not all eggs are unfertilised and a period is not an egg it is the process that the body get rid of unfertilised eggs and gets the body ready for the next one.

No, for two reasons (at least).
Hens don't have a uterus, so they don't cycle in the way that a mammal would... preparing the lining for implantation and sloughing it if pregnancy does not occur. And secondly, the egg would be analogous to the ovum (egg) not the sloughed lining IF they produced such a thing.
