NOBODY REALLY GIVES UP ON THE LOVE ISSUE.
We are in the microwave world. When you find something you like you want to make it quick and devour it. Once you have done that you do it over and over again until one day you want a real meal. When that happens you realize a microwaveable split-up is in order so you can start pushing someone elses bottons and the process begins again with you never get the full course dinner.
Years ago women did not make money and it was the "man" who had control. Now women have a say as to what to eat and when to eat it. No more meals at 5-6pm waiting on the table. We no longer have the time to enjoy anything more than a quick microwaveable relationship.
True long lasting love is only a matter of quality "time" spent together. Unfortuneatly we only have enough time to have sex and push each others buttons!

true love is still alive and well my friend, you already answered it in ur question, commitment is one of the keys, cant have true love without, also trust and loyalty those three bring true and lasting love, people now adays have gotten so off track selfish is accepted as normal and the list goes on and on, you probally wont like this but if you go back to the Bible and do it the way God created us to do things life works real good, I went to church for the first time behind prison walls, that was 19 years ago I applied the principles in the Bible and since my dreans have came true, goals have been reached and I have found true love, we dont break principles they break us, no way around it we reap what we sow, point is bro, dont give up and throw it away it is there, change ur thinking and ur world will change and u will find ur destiny and true love in the process

I don't know if that's true. At certain times of life though - mainly from teens to, say, mid-20s, a lot of people do give themselves over more to just having fun.
I completely agree with this. Sure, I'd love to find love, but I'd also like to try things out, to get to know people, and not tie myself down while I'm still young.
Of course some people get old and jaded without finding love, and others simply reject it. But I don't think it is a majority of people, it just means that more people are willing to have other priorities in their life other than love.
It doesn't mean we should give up on it, though.

Sorry to be so down about this, but even the greatest loves fail for one reason or another. RElationships abound, they are what you make of them. The more you invest, the more you get out of it, OR the less...depends on the view, I suppose. I do know that it happens when you least expect it to...go looking for it and it is as rare as hen's teeth. Turn your back on the entire situation and it suddenly is in your face...The trick is...to know when it is in your face!

If it wasn't for my Christian background,I would throw in the towel, but patience is the key to the door that may lead you to another door that is wide open and full of possibilities.
