Recently my son who is 15 was expelled from school for a year. Not because he is bad, but because he made a stupid choice. I agree with the school then again I don't. My question is.. What alternatives are there.. I can not afford online schooling.. howelse can he get an education.. I need help.. I can not alow this child to go a year with no education.. and I can not afford to stay at home or pay for online classes.. I need help.. Got any suggestions?

my son got expelled because he forgot to take his hunting kinves out of his backpack over theweekend and someone called the cops so he was immediately suspended for 10 days then the school board had a meeting and decided he be expelled for a full year. trust me I live in wyoming and there is a o Tolerance polocy here.. and because my son is not active in sports or is no a prep.. Well the is also a factor in the school boards decision. wrong, YES.. But that is a small town for ya..

There should be some sort of alternative school for you to look into. I don't know how a school could get away with expelling a child for an entire year without there being some other school alternative in your area. Maybe you should try to find some homeschooling moms or dads in the area that would be willing to teach your son along with theirs? Sorry I can't be more help, and good luck!

How in the world can any school expel a child for a year? Hmmm. Well are there any alternative schools such as a Breakfast Club sort of thing? I would look into that. You would be amazed how many options there are out there for helping kids learn. Free too!

A year?? That seems a bit much. Is their any alternative schools in your area? Or charter schools. During the times you are at home you can home school him. It is really not difficult to do. I have been researching it latley. Of course that also depends on what state you live in. Im in TX which is the easiest state to home school in. That is all I can think of.

The school has rules, your son didn't comply with the rules. Stop blaming the schoolboard for something that was the responsiblity of YOURSELF and your son. I guess he will have to either go on independent study or go to continuation school. Maybe this will teach the parents to be more diligent in making sure their son remembers not to take weapons to school.
