Actually, the age to be able to CONSUME alcohol varies from state to state. While one must be 21 to purchase or publicly possess alcohol in ANY state, certain states allow for exceptions of private home consumption under the age of 21. Each STATE has a different age limit for consumption of alcoholic beverages. If you need to know, go to a convenience store 7-11 or similar and ask what the minimum age is in your state. In Texas the minimum age is 21.

In the United States you must be 21. No matter the region.
In the rest of America (Latin America) you drink legally after 18. Under parents' and adults' supervision, since you are 13-14, socially accepted.

In every state i'm pretty sure it's 21 years old even New York I know because I live there, but kids who are at colleges by canada will usually go to canada and drink because the drinking age there is 18
