There are a bunch of good movies out there about horses. The newest of course is Flicka, starring Tim McGraw and Alison Loman(?), heartwarming, just hit theatres. Out on DVD right now are Dreamer, Seabiscuit which are the newer of the dvd collections. However there are also some awesome older/classic movies that are out there about horses too. For instance, the original Black Beauty, Flicka, and National Velvet (little known, but amazing classic...story of a little girl and her horse)
I'm sure there are more out there, but those are the ones that I know and have seen/own.

Current horse movies with merit are of course Seabiscuit, but the film Dreamer has an excellant cast and heart warming storyline if that's what you like. Classic films should include; Black Beauty and Flicka(original). I cannot recommend Horse Whisperer, not really a horse or cowboy movie.

id say seabiscuit ,national velvet, black beauty. seabiscuit if you like horseracing national velvet if you like showjumping and competing and black beauty is just your classic also international velvet if you like national velvet and want to know what happens
