Before I fell in love with you, kat, i was always aware of how happiness arises within but is always dependant on others. No man or woman alone can ever be truly happy... left on our own, apart from others, we shrink into our own minds and wither..
To be human is to be social. We are social beings. Our lives are tapestries of complex weave, richened by our loves and friends.
Now that I have found you, my love, my soul-mate, and now that i know our destiny is to live our dreams and have our beautiful happy garden.. live our lives together loving.. have our happy garden.. fill it with our love.. with our little happy kats and happy tims...
Now i find i depend entirely on you for my happiness... because, without you, my love, there can be no happiness.. only a dream shattered.. a thought i cannot bear to imagine..
Loving you from afar does come with a certain cost, an acute keening of our hearts as we ache so much to be together.. intensely longing to hold each other, to be fulfilled in all ways...
Your phone calls, you emails, our notes on our blogs and 360 pages.. our words.. are our "touches" and we both are sad and blue when circumstance prevents our sharing these "touches" when we want.. your job takes so much from you.. and thus from us.. and I am blue when we miss our time touching through our words...
And, at times, not being with you makes my heart ache so very much..
But i would never say that our love ever makes me unhappy, my love.. for your love has exalted me like no other, baby.. you have moved me like no other.. and when you said "yes" you made me the happiest man in the world..
So, my love, today i find i am happy with you, happier than i ever dreamed possible... and so my happiness will forever be in you, in us, my love....

Happiness, I believe is a choice.... I also believe I can be happier when I am with the one I love. He knows me inside and out. We have little secrets that no one knows, we can look at each other and know what the other is thinking.We can sit in the room with each other and not say a word, but just knowing the other is there is comforting. We take each other for granted, some say that is not a good thing, but we think it is, because we know without a doubt the other will be there no matter what. I guess after 37 years I am not wrong.

You should never be dependent on anyone for your happiness. Despite popular opinion it is not anyone else's job to make you happier. If you can't find happiness inside yourself then no one else will be able to do it for you. Some special in your life could increase the happiness you already have but they will never be able to make you completely happy.

I depend on my mate to complete me and my life. I can be happy, but not complete without him. I would still laugh at the same things, but he makes it special when we laugh together.
