Nobody should clean the wax out of their ears; the ears themselves are designed to do it naturally. The old maxim, never stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ear is true. If you use cotton buds or worse you risk infection or causing damage to the inner ear.

Yes, of course. Wax has nothing to do with deafness. It has to do with cleaniness. I mean who wants to feel clumbs of wax in their ears? It's not good for it to build up. Just because I'm deaf, does not mean that I am 100% deaf. Deafness varies in degrees from person to person. It could be 50%, why risk losing more hearing if you don't keep your ears clean and healthy? I'm 75% deaf. I value whatever amount of hearing left I have as it makes all the difference in how well I understand and communicate through digital hearing aids.
