What is the average cost of corrective laser eye surgery to correct nearsightedness? I heard that it doesn't completely correct your vision if your eyes are bad, how effective is it and how long do the effects last?

I don't know how much the cost of it is now, but when I got it I paid $2500. That was 4 years ago. It still works great. It is a wonderful investment because you would spend that much on contacts/glasses, eye appointments and misc. I don't regret it even though I have problems driving at night and have to wear sunglasses during the day. But I already have some problems with my eyes before the surgery. Search around in your local area. Make sure that you go to someone that offers lifetime warranty and make sure that the cost covers all of your expenses, including medication, post op appointments, and pre op appointments. I used TLC Laser Center. I've never been happier. Oh, and by the way--I have 20/10 vision in both eyes.

I could like to have this method performed on my eyes if I would warranty that a health practitioner would not make me cross blind or botch my eyes up in order that they're worse than they're. However, I do not believe that the method will cross flawlessly. I'll handiest keep in mind doing it if it involves the factor wherein I can not right my eyes adequate with glasses to be competent to cross the imaginative and prescient screening on the DMV for my license at any factor in my lifestyles. (After all, the capability to force may be very predominant, as American tradition is based round using). That will imply that I would possibly not be competent to look no less than 20/forty, inspite of the satisfactory correction. If you handiest have one well eye, doing the method would now not be this kind of well notion. If you can not right the opposite eye (for a few intent, such as you had an eye fixed situation in that eye), and the well eye will get botched, then you're ordinarily blind for lifestyles. Also, the method would now not be so distinguished if you're over forty. Your eyes will already be going downhill in any case due to the fact older humans get presbyopia. I even have heard that it's difficult to uncover a health practitioner who can do surgical procedure on humans who've each farsightedness and astigmatism (that is my case in certainly one of my eyes--the opposite eye is nearsighted and has an astigmatism, that is extra natural).
