Call your local building inspectors.
That sounds tacky...

Don't pay an attention to Valhalla's comments, just because something exists doesn't automatically mean it can be used in all areas. Every local authority has their own regulations, which differ from national building regulations. Your local planning office are the only ones that can say if the structure is permissible. In our area, a front garden can have a 6ft hedge but not a 6ft fence!!. There are some specific regulations relating to a structure over a certain height (1.8m i think) where safety rules apply - a safety railing must be installed to prevent people falling over the edge is one of them. Also what is acceptable by the council in a rear garden may not be acceptable in a front garden (keeping up appearances in local area). So after all that, the answer is no-one can tell you the answer except for your local authority. Sorry

I dont know about decking but i have put up a 6ft fence and havent had any problems. Lets face it if there were any problems they wouldnt make a fence panel 6ft high in the first place, all my neighbours have bushes ,hedges etc over 6ft tall. I live in yorkshire too.

Regulations can be obtained from the planning department of your local authority. S/he may not have required planning permission. In some instances you do have an obligation to inform your immediate neighbours and invite them to raise objections as part of the planning process, and in some instances you don't. If it turns out your neighbour should have sought planning permission and didn't, they may still have the option of seeking it retrospectively.
Is this decking causing any real problems to your property? Or is it simply not to your taste? If it's the latter then leave the neighbour in peace.

You actually need planning permission from your Local Council to erect decking in the garden which exceeds a certain height. Your neighbour's decking is intruding on your privacy. Can you get hold of some woodworms?

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/IOUlj
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
