I would recommend that you take it to several coin dealers for appraisal.

If it is has been made that way from the Mint, yes it will. However if you found it and it has been mutilated on accident or altered by man, it will not hold any value, nor its face value, it would be considered worthless.

Check with local pawn shops, they are most up to date with coin values (its their trade to know so). If you can not find one, write the u.s. mint (or goggle it and e-mail them), and you can get a definite answer from them.
