The cone is of the tree itself so if the cone is produced from the tree using the trees sap and cells it is the trees seed of new life and will smell like the tree.

Hi,
Actually, it's the smell that will become one-day, "turpentine".
Turnpentine is made from the oils and maybe sap, of conifer trees, (pines).
Hope this helps, Dave
