the name brands are SO cool! and they fit so nice and make the people wearing them look hot(unless they have and ugly bod) but the price tag also makes the clothes cooler!! Abercrombie, A&F, and Hollister were all started by the guy who made A& F. Ameagle and aero are made by the same peeps!

Generally speaking, people like clothes for the look, style, fit or feel.
When I go to walmart and put clothes on, they hang on me like a huge rag.
The stuff at abercrombie fits me a lot better b/c its more fitted, the designs of their shirts are nicer and the cotton on their shirts is way softer than the regular cotton on the vast majority of shirts you find.
Macy's is a great store, at least the one where I live. I shop there all the time for work clothes and work shoes and junk. I don't know who said they're not good. They have a ton of designer things, from lacoste to whatever else that I can't think of right now.
As far as other stores, you can break that argument down to "If you shop at JC Penneys, why not shop at a goodwill store or at a swap meet." I'm not saying that JCPenney is the equivalent of a swapmeet, just pointing out that there are places to buy your clothes even cheaper than conventional stores.
If price is such a huge issue, why not just shop at the swapmeet?
I figure, most people would rather go for something nicer and more expensive.
Same principle with AE, A&F, macys, etc.

Target is blue collar fashion. Macy's and JC Penny is for the average and/or old shopper. AE and Abercrombie are seen as more trendy and hip. A good rule of thumb is to look at the salespeople. Do you want to buy clothes from a hoodrat wearing a red polo and Target name tag? Do you want to buy from a baby boomer at JC Pennys, or a fat guy in a cheap suit at Macy's? No, no and no. Go to AE or Abercrombie and check out the college hotties.

One has to possess a characteristic (i.e. intelligence, humor, integrity) to recognize it... this includes a sense of true style... which is medium of personal expression and communication.
Look around.. the majority of the population lack all of the above and more.
Teenagers are generally insecure herds of mindless lemmings that follow whatever television and other media tell them is fashionable. Too bad they dont get that this is all controlled by a bunch of suits trying to empty their pockets.
AE and the rest are chewed up J. Crew clothes that have are made cheaper in sweatshop countries with low quality. Department stores sell better quality clothing in general... especially Nordstrom. And you can get AE and that junk at TJM or Marshalls... but they carry better stuff than that junk.
When you can recognize quality over a label, you will be on your way in life... not just fashion.

ANF and Hollister have really hot guys modeling in homoerotic poses, so that's good enough for me.
However, ANF and Holl. are way too expensive. If I buy any of their gear, I get it second hand at the thrift shops. 60 bucks for a damn T-shirt??? Screw that, I'll go to the thrift store and find a used one for 2 bucks.
Abercrombie, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Hollister are owned by the same company. I thought AmEagle was associated with them too, but I could be wrong.

Wow, you guys take too much stock in what other people think of you. And you put way too much importance on outer things like whats in style or what is fashionable or "Cool". Your wasting your time. If you think a store is "good" then it is, because it's good to you, who cares what others think. Make your own opinion on what is good.
Wanna know what store I think is good? Farm and Fleet. Best store ever, that's where I buy 95% of my clothes. Sadly, Farm and Fleet is a Midwest thing. So a lot of you probably have never heard of it.
In my opinion, all the stores you mentioned suck. You might disagree, but I make up my own mind on what is good and you can't argue with that.
I totally agree with the chick above me. ^

Because Abercrombie is exspensive. In their stores, they have pictures of hot models, great loud music, and great perfume/cologne. It's the closest to designer that suburban people/kids can get to. Well, that's my theory. I DO wear Abercrombie & Fitch. I don't know why. It's just that everyone in my school wears it. And I live in Chicago. It's kind of sad actually.
