Truly, there is a very strong parallel to the play and the human behavior of our time, as is the case in many of Shakespeare plays. That is why they are as popular today as they were when written. An easy to watch, and very well preformed version is the one with Laurence Fishburn. rent it!

I think it really depends on the reader. Like how people are unsure if Hamlet is really crazy or not, the condition of the relationships aren't stated as fact. So this is my opinion. You should really read the play, though, it's good. Gertrude and Claudius married less than two months after Gertrude's husband died. So it is easy to assume that this must have been an affair while the king was alive. It is also assumed that they love one another. Hamlet and Ophelia aren't even exactly a couple in the play. There was flirtation in the beginning, but when the weight on Hamlet's shoulders start to crumble him, it is clear that he doesn't care for Ophelia as much as she does for him.
