If regular cleansers and elbow grease don't work, try Zud instead. This may be found in supermarkets, but is usually available in hardware stores. Works like a charm at removing rust stains (or any other stains) from steel and porcelain. Read the label before using, since it does have acid (oxalic?) and could etch older porcelain, etc. My experience with CLR and all the other rust removers has not been good.

I know this sounds nuts but try using coke on the bottom of the shower and let it sit overnight. The acid in the product eats away at the rust without causing damage to the enamel or vinyl.

What kind of tub is it? CLR is good so is bleahc with scrubbing. I suggest whatever is causing that rust you remove it.
Like if its the drain. I suggest take out the drain clean the surroning of the drain and putting in a new drain. also if you sue silcon seal make sure its not more than 1/8 inch or it will get spots.

I have used a product you can buy in a Dollar General Store (if you have one in the town you live in) it is called Awesome! and it works great for everything i have tried it on, even old stuck on soap scum which is just about as difficult as rust....I would try either the Awesome! or WD 40, my dad was mechanic and used it to loosen rusted on nuts from bolts on engines. Hope this works for you. Good luck with this.

I use THE WORKS toilet bowl cleaner (The WORKS bathtub cleaner does not work on rust) or I have used Wink Rust remover---The WORKS is cheaper. Caution--- do this in a well ventilated area---as you can see clouds of smoke as it burn the rust off

They did it so you should call them back and have them remove it. CLR will work but they should be doing the cleanup.
