Yes and yes. We have both had spouses that cheated on us and we refuse to do that to anyone, ever.
I am sorry to hear that this happened to you. My ex husband had cheated on me, with his brothers wife no less, for 4 years! Then he had an emotional affair with a coworker, then while truck driving he had many hookers--and he made moves on my boss' sis in law!! What a sleeze he was! Gee, and he wonders why he is my ex!! And he says he treated me like a queen! HA! Anyway, things will get better, in time. I promise. Yes, you are shocked. You will get angry eventually, then the healing process can start. In time, you will find someone else, someone much better that won't disrespect you that way or in any way. They are out there. They are just harder to find.

I have been married 37 years and I have always been faithful. Yes, the kind of work I did men did come on to me, but I wanted to look at my reflection in the morning and have a clean conscience. I hate a liar, and I refuse to go down that path. It is all a matter of choice. So sad that some will be unfaithful when they have better at home. I don't go for that jumping in the sack crap. My husband means the world to me and I would never betray the trust he has in me. I believe in working things out, even going to counseling if necessary. When people do what your ex did they are totally selfish, and wanting their own way. I am so sorry this happened. Move on and maybe you can find someone who will be faithful and love you bunches and bunches.

I am really sorry for you. I have been cheated on by my ex too so I know what it feels like and it was also with somebody I knew and trusted!! Now I am happily married to a wonderful man and I trust him completely and he trusts me too. Since I know first hand what it feels like when your love cheats ; I would never do it to my husband and I am sure he would not do it to me. I wish you the best for your future. Don't give up on men , there are good guys out there!!

Yes, and yes......because we've both experienced a mate who strongly lacked moral fiber. Thus we both personally know, only too well, the pain that infidelity brings.

I was faithful to my ex. He was not. Hence the demise of the relationship.

To answer your question, yes and yes.
He's your ex now for some good reason and she was no friend to begin with.

Tell him:
And I shall find another perhaps
And a better one than you
And eyes as lovelier
And lips as sweet, but true!!
