Long, long before she was kicked out of the Solar System, Pluto ran a railroad track from her orbit into the sun. The long and lonely ride was made all the more tedious by the uninterupted view of nothingness, the unending lack of perspective, and the lack of comodious rest stops. As her train clickety-clacked between warmth and deep freeze, Pluto felt that the she might like something beautiful to see as she peered out at the darkness from her sleeper car. A failed yet talented art school dropout, Pluto braked her train along the route and made Jupiter of paper mache and painted the big ball with vivid acrylics. Not satisfied with having only one site to see along her route, Pluto stopped and fashioned Saturn from a styrofoam ball fitted with sheet metal rings. This led to a frenzied season of creation. Other large colorfull balls were installed along the way. Impatient, and wishing something closer to the Sun, Pluto began fashioning smaller, quickly installed balls. Mercury was positioned too near the Sun. Its lurid paint quickly burned away. Venus was tinted with vivid blue neon, but the gas was too noxious to allow for much of a rest. Wishing for a beautiful rest stop with all the mod cons, Pluto finally created the Earth. The Earth's great beauty was a welcoming beacon on either her in- or out-bound journey, and also made a nice place of respite. There was water to drink and wash with, warm sands to lounge upon, hills and mountains to stretch the legs, and delicate flowers to sniff and lace through Pluto's locks. The art critics were not so kind, however, and booted Pluto from her own spot at the end of the line, and then set their eyes upon the Earth as the perfect location for a big-box Wal-Mart with plenty of parking.

Creation myths... Some of the similiarities... Something from nothing Something from an element (all water, all earth, etc.) Often times associated with a body (body of Gaia, body of Ymir) Usually a trial or task that has to be accomplished by a hero, or trickster. Usually the first man and first woman are created shortly there after. Usually the pantheons great players are established (Zeus, Hades, Posiedon) Usually there is a duality (sky is father, earth, mother) but the linkage to elements depends on the culture. Usually a long time passes, and something suddenly occurs (in 7 days, etc.) Usually, somebody is upset about something (death, stealing, etc.) In most cases where there is a creation myth, there will be an end-time myth as well (Ragnarok, Armeggedon, and so on)

I would use the ancient Egyptian myth of creation. According to it, Amun-Ra made the world emerge as a hill of mud from the bottom of the waters of chaos.
