many times a day... probably at least once an hour. We live across the street from a city hospital.
The best tho is the shock trauma helicopters. We get to hear those too. One of the better things about the weather turning colder -- we close the windows and the helicopters don't drown out what we're saying or watching on TV

When I lived in NYC all the freaking time, you'd know something was wrong when you DIDN'T hear the sirens, now that I live in the Detroit area is pretty constant as well, but nothing like NYC though.

NEVER!! The only time I herad sirens and saw the cars and stuff was when the accident was at my community. Other than that, I never see of hear police cars and ambulances nearby.

We live six blocks from the police station, two from the hospital, and seven from the fire station. If it isn't the police or fire sirens, it's ambulances and helicopters around here. And the helicopter comes in right over the house, too. Sometimes low enough to blow the trees around.

lol i live right by a fire dept. and the largest airforce base in the world.and across the water the largest navy base in the world.i hear them all the time. i cant keep count. but i can sleep while a f18 flys just a few hundred feet over my house . sirens dont effect me much.

I live in a real high crime area so i would say atleast 2 -3 times a day! Even if they're just passing through ur gauranteed to her the ambulance. They probably just do drive bys to check for dead people lol

Not every single day, but I hear them a lot! I live in a tourist town where people from all over the world come to show us locals that THEY CAN'T DRIVE WORTH A DAMN!!!!! lol♥

At least once or twice; there is a fire station right across the road from the entrance to my apartment complex.
