Secretly and not so secretly. Too many to count. It's really hard when the secret is out and they don't return the feelings, then what? You wish the ground would open up and swallow you.

When I was young I had quite a few crushes, later in my 20s
and 30s I was always infatuated , now Instead I get the hots for
someone who is a hottie. LoL
If you see this as it is what it is there is no harm or hurt involved. And life is never boring if you have a good imagination.

Ah, actually it should be "fallen" rather than "fell" (Sorry, but I can't help it; I'm an English teacher.)
It's happened, oh, I'd say, at least a dozen times (I'm assuming that you mean that the lady I fell for never learned of my amatory inclinations.)

This old song by the Elizabethan poet Barnabe Googe (1540 -1594) conveys the feeling very well.

There is a lady sweet and kind,
Was never face so pleased my mind;
I did but see her passing by,
And yet I love her till I die.

Her gesture, motion and her smiles,
Her wit, her voice, my heart beguiles;
Beguiles my heart, I know not why,
And yet I love her till I die.

Had I her fast betwixt mine arms,
Judge you that think such sports were harms,
Were't any harm? No, no, fie, fie!
For I will love her till I die.

Should I remain confinèd there
So long as Phoebus in his sphere,
I to request, she to deny,
Yet would I love her till I die.

Her free behavior, winning looks,
Will make a lawyer burn his books.
I touched her not alas not I,
And yet I'll love her till I die.

Cupid is winged and doth range
Her country so my love doth change;
But change she earth or change she sky,
Yet will I love her till I die.

Yes, indeed. Many times. Only once for keeps, though. It was the most recent time, 20 years ago, and it has been and still is for keeps. It was the only one that I acted on, thus of course removing the veil of secrecy.

I've only fallen for two people in my life. One is my husband. The other one (who I loved first) is Billie Joe Armstrong. And, Nope I've certainly not made it a secret. I'm known for my sick obsession with Billie Joe! lolhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToICKbp0LRQ

Quite a few times, actually. It sucked because when you can't tell them how you feel, it eventually starts eating you up inside.♥

I think many people have had crushes. Ususally in early youth. Ususally when we are older, we persue our interests. We usually outgrow secret crushes.
