unfortunately, it wasn't a website merchant like amazon.com. i am assuming it is a merchant that set up his business to defraud people.

Yes, I had a bad experience with AbeBooks. Dont waste your time on that site!!!!!!

The seller was advertising a book and specifically said it was third edition and said the copyright date.

I got the book and it was second edition with a different copyright date!!!!!!

I emailed the seller and they said that the order I placed corresponded with a book with the ISBN number of (blah blah blah).

But they didnt put the ISBN number in the advertisment, and they did say in the advertisement that it was third edition with a recent copyright date!

I emailed back saying that they advertised it wrong, and I would like the right book, or my money back, and I'd even pay to ship the book back.

They never responded!

And then I emailed abebooks and they also never responded to me!!!!!!!!

I was so ticked off, but realistically, I'm just a college student and I'm not going to sue over a 50 dollar book!

Watch out for that site! I would suggest using sites that have ratings systems like ebay. Or just purchase the books at your local bookstore. Even if its not in stock they can order it for you. There are far too many scammers out there!!!

Every now and again. And shopping an Amazon doesn't help, because they often just send the order to a third party. Sometimes those third parties are good other times they suck.
