will expansion back in Canada be possible?

If you look at the average league attendance stats for this year the Canadian teams have 5 of the top ten attendance averages. Only Edmonton is out of the top ten (18th) but they are averaging 16,839. So I think that the Canadian clubs are holding their own.
Their payrolls for the most part secure under the salary cap so I think most teams will be profitable this year. Expansion ...it would be nice to see some movement on that front I think the East Coast would be a good choice for an expansion team (maybe The Pens). But I don't think we will see to much expansion in Canada...

Expansion in Canada (or anywhere else) is a few years off. The only short term hope is the Pittsburgh situation, but even there, they may just be playing the city for money.

Once the NHL stabilizes again, there may be room for more Canadian teams again. The salary cap makes it possible. I think it would be more likely that some of the newer US teams might move back into Canadian markets. Phoenix, Anaheim, Dallas, Florida, Tampa Bay, etc. might become targets. Maybe Wayne will smuggle the Coyotes back across the border some night!

Business for the Canadien teams will vary. Fan support is a major issue, but I think that the Calgary Flames will have the best year financially. The Canadian teams will be financially successful, but maybe not as much as American teams.

I don't think the Leafs have to worry, it's next to impossible to even get a ticket at the ACC. I'm not sure about expansion though, there really aren't a lot of venues left to bring a team to.

Business so far looks productive. All the canadian teams are doing good.

I pray we will have another team in the Southern Ontario market.I can't stand the LEAFS and it would be incredible if the Penguins franchise moved to this market either in Hamilton or the Kitchener -Waterloo area. I know it is a pipe dream but you never know.I would love to see the arrogant MLSE knocked down a few pegs
