Pretty hypocritical statement there, look at the people you're targeting with this answer.

That being said, I love my computer and my internet and would probably go through withdrawal symptoms if I lost it for a duration of time. Just like all addictions, people that have an 'infatuation' with their computers, have to learn to curb the amount of pull their respective computers have upon them.
Oh, and a lot of people I know that are avid 'net users may be less inclined to be social in their real lives, but sometimes they make up for it by being a part of an internet community. People need other people to be healthy, and the internet can still provide that. Oh, and you learn sooooo much.

As for gaming, that is a problem that can be stopped because you just little by little, stop playing your game.

Computers run the world at the moment, so it's not necessarily a bad thing that more and more people are using them, it's almost like a given.

How do you define "infatuation"? I have put off getting my own computer until last February and now that I have this, I could not imagine life without it. I cannot believe I went for as long as I did without one. I don't think I'm infatuated with my microwave either but I'd be totally lost without it...

I think they are lacking something else that has the power to infatuate them just as much.

It's the same as buying a brand new car or house. It's a big thrill to get something you've been wanting for a long time.
