why or why not. im really italian so im surprised my mom didnt name me alessandra i really want people to start calling me that. i absoutley hate the nickname alex which alot of people call me so i try to use alexa but people still call me alex. is there a way i can just change my nickname when i go off to college?

i only heard the name alexa once, in high school, and i soooo wanted to have that name because it is really unique. on the other hand, her ein romania alexandra is a very common name, unlike alexandria.this one(alexandria) has an old-fashioned (in a good way!) touch, probably because i associate it with the town of alexandria. anyway, has anyone told you that it means "the protector of men" and that is the same with iscandaria?

Um, but as far nicknames go, they'll still call you Alex for short..mabye Al, Alle, Alexa, Miss X, Xandria...if Alessandra - Alice, Sandra, Sandi, Sandy. I like your name though. =)

well one of my used to be best friends was named that if you believe that names are like horoscopes what you name the child will have alot to do with the personality I wouldn't do it
she is a liar and deceiver and very self destructive
