I know there will be different heights when the rain clouds are heavier but is there a average height that a rain drop falls from?

Hi. The maximum is over 40,000 feet and the minimum is, well, zero it it forms right at the ground. My guess is that the majority of rain forms at, and falls from, 5.000 feet or so.

seeing as a plane flys at 30,000 feet and thats above the clouds as a rule, im guessing somwhere between 20 and 25 thousand
