Gerald hit it, it's one or both of your front rotors. They can be turned a bit to shave a little material off. That may do it, or you can replace them.

Depending on the year, make and model, they can be very inexpensive or toward the other end.

Too much hard braking, or being on the brakes all the time causes it, along with wheel nuts being installed too tightly.

Is it only shaking when you apply the brakes? Then yes, you should have the front brakes replaced, and the rotors turned. If it shakes a little while driving and not just when youapply the brakes, alignment or balancing may be the culprit, also have a tire proffesional look at your tires for any sign of abnormal wear such as seperated belts ( ridge or a knot in the tire)

due to the fact that the shake is in the wheel we know its the front brakes causing the problem. My next question is whether you can feel pulsation in the brake pedal (unless you have ABS) anyway its most likely that your Rotors are warped or excessive runout requiring them to be resurfaced.

Your front brake rotors are warped. This is caused by not torquing the lug nuts to the right specifications, usually over tightening. Most shops just use impacts to tighten lug nuts beause it's faster than taking the time to torque your lug nuts the right way.

A host of problems could be the cause, all could compromise your safety, therefore you should have it checked IMMEDIATELY.

The first thing that comes to mind is that your disc-brake calipers or rotors. They need to be re-surfaced. Other causes may include steering and suspension problems that coulc cause accidents if you need to brake hard.

Have it checked, NOW.

Good luck.

Because your brake rotors are warped. Don't screw around cutting them, just replace them.

Misaligned front end. Sometimes it will cause violent vibrations when your car is going at a certain speed, because that speed will reinforce the harmonics of the vibration.
