Battle of the Bands-
So who is the Better of the two? "CHEAP TRICK" or "TOM PETTY?

Oh my god what a question! I am a nut for both bands.
But since I've met Cheap Trick, and I've seen them more than 50 times, and they have all 4 original band members,

Both are good, but Tom Petty is better, Cheap Trick did some crappy albums in the late 80s, Tom's were always awesome.

Cheap Trick was more original & creative.....I do like a few songs by Tom Petty but Cheap Trick is just a bit better to me!

They both have their high points, but Tom Petty has been much more consistent. Take, for example, their latest releases. I've heard a couple of songs off of both and Cheap Trick's new songs are pretty lousy. Tom Petty's new songs are pretty solid. I don't think he recorded it with the Heartbreakers, though.

Tom Petty is in my opinion, Cheap Trick has a couple good songs, but they all sound alike, Petty mixes it up.

Overall, I think I like more songs by Cheap Trick. Both bands are very good though.
