It was difficult to manage her for all these years and i am happy that now somebody else is taking my pain.Thank you all for coming and sharing my happiness.

Start by thanking everyone for coming first of all.
You can then pretty much do what you want after that. Embarres her with funny stories about her past, congratulate her on her achievements whatever you like. Traditionally you don't embarress her but thank her for being your daughter and tell her how proud you are of her.
Don't forget to thank her mother/your wife for helping to bring her up the daughter you both love and welcome your new son to the family fold.
Finally, ask everyone to charge their glasses and join you in wishing the bride and groom every happiness and success in the future.
Sit down, relax and smile in a job done.

You say be as funny as you want to be, are you sure you want to be funny. Your little girl is getting married and that is a very important day for her. Shouldn't you come up with something meaningful. Regardless, of your relationship with your daughter let this speech be something from the heart.

well it all depends on if you want to make her laugh or cry you can start out by saying today i am the happiest father in the world you have made me a very proud father and then you can go on about a moment in her life that you will never forget like when she first went to school or when she learned to ride a bike for the first time. Then at the end you wish her all the luck a father can wish for his doughtier.

Mixed feelings about today happy for my daughter as she has found the man of her dreams. Sad for myself as I have no money left so will have to sell up . However on second thoughts I could do a dash away now and leave the bills unpaid. Yes I am felling happier again now.

I started with thanking everyone for coming and sharing the special day with us.Then I told them all a funny story about something my daughter did when she was young that stood out in my mind.Ended with telling her how much I love her and hoped that she will be happy for the rest of her life.

A professor of mine was the ghost-writer for our student union leader who had won the election. In his victory speech, the student leader addressed the gathering as:
"Ladies and gentlemen, if there are no ladies, gentlemen only", the reason being that our professor had given him the written script like this: "Ladies and gentlemen (if there are no ladies, gentlemen only)" giving him instruction for his dialogue delivery within the parentheses!
Hence you, the father of the bride, don't mess up your speech for god's sake!

sometimes when I want to get inspire I look at my kid's pictures
or the scrapbook and then I start putting all these ideas on my
poems. also, a walk to the ocean might bring you some insperation. good luck!
