The overall dirties city in America is Chicago. The cleanest is Portland, OR.

The cities have more particle pollution and higher smog levels than other metro areas in the US. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is placed fifth for particle pollution, with Houston, Texas, in fifth place nationally for smog pollution.

Los angeles has a bad problem because the pollution doesnt disperse,it hovers over the city like a cloud.

Pittsburgh use to be nasty because of the steel inustry but now the air is cleaner and better. I would say now between Detroit and Philly.
