The richest vcontinent on earth I would say but its citizens live the poorest life, due to corruption, greed, poor governance. When are we going to understand that enough is enough. If we cant do that then why not go back to colonial rule?

Africa will become rich (in wealth and spirit) only when they get rid of their bad governments (supported by corrupted western governmental structures), and when the people start ruling their own countries themselves, instead of the EU, USA, and all other who are exploiting Africa's riches!

Africa will go forward one day and move out of poverty if the developed countries assist in fighting against corruption. Not the poltical witch haunting type of fighting corruption as down by President Olusegun Obasanjo of NIGERIA. All the stolen monies are kept in developed countries. If the their (Developed Countries) governments shy away from assisting this criminality, Africa will move ahead because the continent is blessed with talents and natural resources.

I do not know that any nation has the resources to rule another nation without sapping from the colonies resources. Africa needs to provide goods and services for competative prices that can not be obtained from anywhere else. The people need to get educated and stay there. If the educated people leave then there are no engineers or doctors to do the tricky things that need to get done in the continent.

What they need to do is have uprisings. Once they do that if they can install a stable, non corrupt (If thats possible) government, then maybe they will be able to finnaly create a good system that can pull them out of extreme poverty. But each nation will have to go through this and the chances of it happening any time soon look doubtfull.

I don't think it is going to change anytime soon. Alot of people in Africa, especially in some of the poorest regians have very little education. Without Education people can't make a change in there situation.

I don't think Africa anytime soon will get out of proverty for reason you stated, there is to much corruption at the highest levels of goverment, Greed is a very powerful motivator with people, they see what they can get out of it, not what they can do for other people.

Hi. A few things MUST happen first. Disease must be reduced, especially HIV/AIDS. Insect born diseases could be reduced by the use of insecticide impregnated sleeping rolls. (This idea originated with an economist who name escapes me but I think it might be Geoffry Sachs.) Corruption must be punished. Clean water for drinking must be made available. And the population must be controlled to minimize having so many living in areas that cannot support them.

Not while the ancient colonizers still control the money. Don't believe that the Brits, Spanish, French Dutch, Belgians and Portugese REALLY gave them independence. They just crossed the ocean, became US/EEC citizens, and started all over again.

its not our place to rule over other peoples. besides the jesse jacksons amongst us would cry racism. It seems like they are cursed to live under corrupt governments. The African people themselves must muster the will to throw off the shackles of their corrupt governments and understand their self determination to rule themselves fairly.

Not until they learn to farm and tender the ground on their own ,NO, quit sitting around squatting and writing in the sand and learn how to farm. And if the governmant is stealing, you have to do something about it. The U.S.A. cannot take the whole world in.These third world countries need to feed themselves

It doesn't look like it and I agree with Arewether...They must try to overcome. I don't think big rock concerts every other decade will do them any good either.
