Why did our rubber stamp Congress allow Bush to put an act into law that suspends habeas corpus protection ? ANYONE the president deems to be an enemy combatant ( and yes, this does include US citizens ), can be secretly arrested - and that person can dissappear forever. Why did we allow this to happen?
How do we change it back ?

I don't know how to say this, but all I can tell you is that when the Democrats regain control of Congress in a matter of days, we will have cut the serious menacing powers of Bush and his incompetent supporters in a very big way. That will teach them for screwing up the Constitutional guarantees for people in police custody! This is just like Chilean dictator Pinochet's "Dirty War" **** back in the 70's!

We get things back to the way they should be by voting out Bush's rubber-stamping Congress on November 7 and voting in people who aren't afraid to stand up to him and tell him to go to hell. The Republipukes in Congress are nothing but puppets of his for the most part and if he had asked them to suspend the First Amendment, they would have voted to do so.
