I have 2 goats and 2 lambs and its starting to get cold outside, the pasture is getting pretty bare. What do I feed them in winter? Hay, alfalfa, grain? How much? Please answer if you really know.

Feed them alfalfa hay and some a grain mix called four way. Make sure they have plenty of water and go easy on the four way so they do not get bloated.

Alfalfa and grain for your lambs and goats. It just depends on how much they eat like give them each a 1 pound and a half then if it seems like they need more than up it to 2 pounds of grain I mean.Alfalfa is much better than regular hay. I would give them maybe 3 handfuls a day. Also to keep them warm during the winter you might want to put them in the barn with a heating lamp.

My parents give their 6 sheep hay over the winter. They usually put out 2-4 flakes a day, and occasionally give them some grain as a treat. I would start with 2 flakes and see how long it sticks around. Ideally there will be just a little leftover when they are done eating.

All they need is hay and water. If they start getting a little thin you can give them a small amount of 4-way or COB. Basically though, goats and lambs are grazers and survive without grain.
