I came up with an idea for a christmas in July thing a while back. Use either a dark blue card or make a dark blue background base. Make a piece of adhesive vellum to fit the bottom part of the card. Like about 2 inches or so. With a torn edge on top. Then make another piece of paper with white paper to fit the bottom part of the card. But only like an inch and a half. With a torn edge on top. So it looks like 2 layers/dimensions of snow drifts.
Fill the blue portion on top with snowflakes. Glue on punched snowflakes. And also make some with a pencil eraser and white stamp pad.
Your sentiment can either be stamped on the white portion at the bottom. Or inside the card.

the simplest Christmas Cards to make are to use your scrapbooking or patterned papers on left hand side of your card with a torn edge on the right hand side, then put your embellishment on 2" approx square piece of card either on the square or triangular mount that piece of card on a contrasting piece of card about 1/4" bigger, then place centrally on the top third of the main card.... use peel offs for the 'Happy Christmas'
on the plain side of the card, use peel offs to decorate on the plain side, i.e. stars, bells, or use the little tiny pieces that are left behind from the chain peel offs. .. difficult to explain.... but does look effective. Good luck.

I made mine through hand. Pretty low priced to make. Go for your neighborhood craft retailer (or you'll use heavy card inventory paper & fold it in part or fours) You have the choice of doing through laptop utilising constant printing paper (or card inventory) starting up your Microsoft Word & you'll kind in Christmas Cards in seek. It will furnish you with exclusive pre-made playing cards. Those clip arts within the icons may also be converted in case you wish. You can seek different clip arts on MW & including the only you want. The different choice is, move for your neighborhood craft retailer (even Walmart) & purchase the ones clean playing cards able to embellish. Their like $five for a kit of 12 I consider. (Its been a whilst given that I purchased them) & get a few Christmas watching paper (their 4x$one million at Michaels correct now). Some double sided adhesive (tape, avert glue given that it has a tendency to depart paper rainy & raised). Get a few $one million 3D stickers (the shop manufacturer) they paintings very effectively. & you'll simply depart it at that. Just the leisure could be your "ideas" (Now, utilising the printer & your M.W you'll print at the again of the playing cards "Hand Made through:" with a Christmas clip artwork, I advise you train this process earlier than utilising the most important paper you'll do that on) Anything else, like brads, and so on is additional & as much as you. I have supplied the hyperlink to how my Christmas playing cards got here out. Took me simply an hour to lead them to! Mainly with the suggestions/provides I recounted above! :D HTH

You will need :
Stiff card
Foam padding
Glue
Red fabric
Measure and cut foam to fit card front.
Measure and cut fabric to cover front and back of card plus extra inch all way round.
Fold card in half before sticking fabric down on inside (If you don't do this then you'll have stuck fabric on and card won't shut)
Using red card measure and cut two pieces and stick them to the insides of the card.
You can decorate the front in any way you like but if it is for someone special :
Applique (but using glue) : Using felt, cut out the shapes of the design you want eg. candles and glue all edges down onto front of card EXCEPT one edge.
Now stuff the inside of the felt shape and glue final edge in place.

I like to look at other Christmas Images to use as my guide. I then find a few that I like and try to recreate it or mix and match ideas that I find. Then I like to add something to the card that makes it stick out... like ribbon, glitter ext....
If you make a Christmas tree card for example you could add small beads to the tree for ornaments.
