If you have allergies...try clean and clear All. It has no scents.

Try using the original Arm and Hammer or spend a little more and buy the ivory or dreft detergents for babies. As far as softner if you are allegic to detergents I would not suggest you using one but if you want to use downy or snuggle.

my daughter is allergic to tide and several other laundry detergents. She can use Gain, Arm & Hammer and Sun laundry detergents without breaking out. For fabric softener, we like Downey Concentrate

Tide for me is the best. I even keep a Tide To Go sample in my pocket, so I can always use it on fresh stains. It's very easy to use, and it simply works for me. Check out this site http://www.upkb.com/tidetogo.php to know more.

I use arm & hammer....smells fresh not fruity and is low cost and cleans well. I use snuggle exilarations the smell is lotus flower and very mild but nice. For fluffiness i use these as seen on tv dryer balls by dryer max...i got them from walmart and you use them over n over.

Best softner is downy, hands down.
Best laundry soap is liquid gain.

A nice one is Ariel. It is usually sold in the hispanic stores. Great in the clothes and it smells good too.
