I got this question when i was on an job interview. Man, im clueless at that time! Need to standby an answer for further mishaps!!

First :if you think neutrally that there is cause to sue against you then it would be worthy to compromise with him.
Second: if you see that your customer is wrong then try to compromise with your customer as "customer can not do any wrong".
Third : inspite of all of your effort if you see that your customer is sticky to sue against your company then you have to find a good defence lawyear.

Try to fix whatever the problem was, apologize profusely, and give them something for thier trouble - like coupons or 10% off thier purchase.

Remember this line - "the true test of a long term customer relationship is not the complete absence of problems, but the successful resolution of problems."

i would try to make a deal with customer that would work for company and the customer
