Ever since I moved to another location, my computer has been locking up at different times. Fan and cooling system is working fine, I ran McAfee to check for viruses and none were found. It just seems that when I leave it idle for a period of time or even when I'm just using it for a bit, it freezes where I can't use the mouse, keyboard, or anything and the only thing to do is do a forcible power off of my computer. Thanks in advance.

Specs of Cpu:
Processor Speed: 2.0 ghz
Ram: 2560mb of ram

Girlfriend had that issue, turned out that the hard drive magnets were screwed up so she needed a new hard drive. Test it somehow, take it in to get a diagnostics done on the hard drive.

hope this helps.

you might have accidentally damaged something, like a hard drive for example.

maybe you do have a virus that is so new that mc afee doesn't have an update for it yet.

computer viruses are made every day, i have made a few in the 90' that i never sent out.

but they wouldn't work with anything higher than windows 95

Probably just "chip creep" Vibration from movement causes components to move and that in turn causes computer to lock up. If you know how, open your case and check your components to make sure they are all seeded properly. Make sure you discharge any static electricity before you touch anything tho!
