A regular "Restart" should return PC to normal mode! If it doesn't, go to "System Restore" and restore to before you installed the anti-virus pgm. Then reinstall the anti-virus pgm, or maybe another one!
Good luck!

Hi,

This can happen if your Startup configuration is set incorrectly. Try these steps and check:

1. Click Start > Run.
2. Type msconfig and click ok.
3. Select "Normal Startup" under General tab.
4. Click Apply.
5. Click Close.
6. Restart the computer.

The AV programs don't put you into safe mode. To get out of safe mode you simply reboot your computer. It will bring you back up in normal mode.

You should have said what AV program you downloaded. Some of them are bogus.
