I feel supremely ugly under flourescent lighting... i think i'm disgusting and horrid.
And the stupid university lighting... It's flourescent but they have this golden cover so it's like "wtf"....

My perception of myself has nothing to do with the lighting. Outwardly I appear the same regardless. I take stock inwardly on a regular basis to keep it real.

If this really bothers you, take some samples of colours with you to the places with the shite lighting, and a mirror. Hold the colour next to your face, and find the colour that makes you feel less ugly. No one looks good in flourescent lighting, so at least you are on a level playing field. Most loos in public places are fourescently lit, so you don't have to get terribly public about your colour investigation. Don't know about the golden cover. I assume the same investigation will work. Now, if someone will work out how to keep the letters on the page under flourescent lighting, I might be able to hold down a job.

Flourescent lighting makes alot of us look like monsters. But the new 'soft color' and daylight types are improving that. Yet, none of this should change the perception of the true Self....

If I look in the mirror at work under those hideously dim flourescent lights, I look like a sallow, pasty-faced nightmare.
If I'm at home with soft lighting or candlelight, I look pretty foxy. hehe
I might just be kidding myself, I probably look sallow all the time, but I'm in denial!

Florencent lighting is very bad for your eyes. Did you see that Seinfeld where his girlfriend looked good/bad in different lighting? What a hoot!

yes, and also i feel much prettier when i look at myself in the mirror before going to bed that throughout the day.
