Tell her that you like him and you don't care what she thinks. You are the one that really likes him, not her. Your friend is entitled to her opinion, but she should be happy for you and not make fun of him. Don't tell her anything that goes on between you and that very special person in your life. You are happy and that's all that matters. When it comes to guys (from a girl's perspective), looks aren't everything. It's what's in the heart that matters and the way that the guy carries himself. You don't have to be nice about it. What she is doing isn't especially nice. Maybe she has already hit on him and is pissed that he didn't choose her over you. So to get you to drop him, she is going to dis him. Don't let her attitude influence your decision.
