Okay, I have awful Gaydar, but I need to ask this for thosse that have acute, powerful Gaydar.
I have a friend. He is very flirty with a male friend of mine. They are very touchy feely, they hug often, and he the straight one is the one who initiates the hugging, the straight guy looks deep into my guy friends eyes, he seems very much in tune with my other guy friend. The straight guy HAD a girlfriend and when I would ak him what he's doing that evening/weekend he would say "Hanging out with his girlfriend" and he would act so bothered by that - like, he didn't want too at all. They are not together any more.
He seems Gay to me. I was actually surprised he said he had a girlfriend. My male friend asked him if he was gay, and he said he wasn't, but, he as they would talk he would look deep into his eyes, and this completely confused my gay friend who doesn't know - He thinks he's in the closet.
I'm not sure if he's Gay. Is he Gay?

We care because my male friend likes him a lot, and he would really like to know for sure FIRST. Straight or in the closet, this could hurt their friendship. I just want to get an opinion on the matter, and then maybe, in time, things will "come out".

What does it matter? I am a little annoyed that society thinks that gays are stuck to be forever gay! I am a bi-sexual male, but I am also married happily for over 24 years. If I want to do oral on a friend my wife understands. I hav had maybe 3 guys in all of my life, and it is because I had such a big problem with masterbation when I was a teen. Couple that with the fact that I have such a big imagination, I can climax just by thinking of having sex, whether it's with a man or a woman. Best way is to keep busy, and re-organise your thought process. No!!! he is NOT Gay!

Okay, the guy above me....I don't even know where to begin with that. When I read that post, it pains me to think of how many really great gay couples I know who have been in relationships for years, some 25+ years, who are committed and monogamous that cannot get married, and then this douche bag above me is "asking" his wife to blow dudes. Oh well. It's a real shame.
And, yes. I would suspect he is Gay, but not ready to admit it yet. He sounds like he's comfortable with who he is, but not ready to admit to the world who he is. He may have already with himself.
He'll come out when he's ready.

Sounds like it, but only he knows for sure. Maybe he's not ready to come out of the closet. My 60 year old aunt denies that she's gay, even though she's been living with her "friend" for 17 years and refers to her as her "cousin" when she introduces her to other people. Some people just have a hard time with it.

Who cares?@! He might be, and if he is, he will tell you when he is comfortable. I guess the only constructive advice I have is for your gay friend. If he likes the "straight guy" and he wants to date him, he should try! Nothin' brings a gay guy out of the closet like a guy!

There are affectionate guys. The problem is guys dont do the same things that girls do - all the hugging, touching and kissing stuff. But a sensitive guy could - and he could be totally straight. It is one of those things that society screws up.

it's possible that he is bisexual, bi-curious, a big flirt, or just a guy that likes physical contact. straight men like affection too and a guy secure enough with his own sexuality isn't bothered by physical contact with other men. just because he likes hugging and making eye contact does not mean he is not heterosexual.

i would say that it isnt the best idea to ask him directly, because if he isn't it may hurt his feelings but you should casually talk about gay people and say how you think they're completly normal and theres nothing remotly wrong with them so that then (if he is) he may feel comfortable to tell you.

Its his choice if he says he is straight now then believe him and if later he isnt then he isnt its his life and he will decide when to come out if he wants.

Have a conversation with him....start it with " I accept you no matter what you say....." and ask his preference....thats the only way you will REALLY know.
