H*ll no! What an extreme waste of energy. I tie them tight enough for support and loose enough to slip on like loafers. Heavier people always kind of have their shoe lace bow kind of on the side because it's harder to bend over and that's where it ends up.
I put my foot up on the bed and tie them once right in the middle and that's it 'til I buy a new pair. It's called "efficiency"! I can wear a good pair of Wal-Mart athletic shoes for about 6 months on the treadmills and whatever just slipping on and off like loafers. Who needs to know? Only the 3 or 4 squillion people reading this answer......
