if it's is easy to get to the electrical connector to the fuel pump then disconnect it, then try a new fuse and see it blows,if it doest' then the short is in the fuel pump wiring in the tank. Find out witch is the power and negative wire from the connector on the car then look at the fuel pump, it should be mark + for power -- for negative. If the fuse blows then disconnect the relay and try the fuse again, this should give you an idea were the short is

First, disconnect the fuel pump and try a new fuse. If it doesn't blow, then pump.
Pull all the wires on the injectors and see if it blows. If so, plug one in at a time to find the bad one.
If it still blows with the pump and injectors disconnected, the power running to the pump or injectors is shorted somewhere.

Bitburgerman has the right idea, but instead of replacing fuses and letting them blow, take the fuse out. Wire a test light between the terminals. Turn on the key, the light will light. Now start disconnecting things until the light the goes out. The last thing you disconnected is the short. Fix it.

i own a repair sop,and i did this one time on a car,i think you might have the wires on wrong for the fuel pump,if it was one of the ones that you have to splice in or the wires were a different color, you can cross them, i did and it just about drove me nuts trying to find it,but after removing the pump i seen what i had done ,and after that it all worked fine on it,but i worked on it for a whole day before i realized what i had done,,good luck i hope this help,s.

You have a short and they are very common on fuel injected cars because of where the harness is located under the plenum. You have to check through the wires until you find the short and repair it! Tough job but someone has to do it!
