I agree but I dont think we should get into this one, some people in Northern Ireland prefer to think of themselves as British (to those people I will say ''P**s off and bang yer orange drum''), hence the Years long sufferings and fights and bombings etc. I think they may forget about the hundreds of years of oppression that the English put them through, but everybody has there own opinions. Lets not get into Michael Collins and Eammon De Valera stuff please. Each to there own, we aint gonna change it are we now??

Irish are British the only reason the Irish republic is not part of grate Britain is because of the idiotic English Parliament and there neglect of Ireland originally the Irish only wanted home rule not Independence but they where over shadowed by the grate war (world war 1).

My Irish ancestors and present day relatives who still live in Ireland are Irish and Protestant to the core. They come from the Republic of Ireland ( not Northern Ireland ) and certainly do not consider themselves British. I think there were a few Scots in the woodpile somewhere back though and this may have contributed to their Protestantism.

The people of Eire are of mixed race in that the majority are of Irish [Gaelic] Celtic origin and the next group, mainly those who live in the North of Eire, are classified as Scots. One only has to think of the name Paisley to see that it is a district or suburb of Glasgow to appreciate the point I am making. Paisley is not an Irish name.

I don't consider people from Northern Ireland to be Irish, they're part of Britain. They really want nothing to do with the rest of Ireland, so, fine, stick with Britain.

whilst Northern eire is pronounced, maximum persons comprehend it extremely is the six counties interior the united kingdom, no longer the 9 counties of Ulster. The Republic of eire isn't called Southern eire in any formal criminal context and there is an endless deference between being the south component of the island of eire and Southern eire - Southern eire does no longer exist in regulation, the Republic of eire does. Edit: Irish people, north & south, know the the version, we are by no skill allowed to miss. My adventure of coping with people who prefer to pass to eire is they do no longer know the version, some are not even conscious that there '2' Irelands on the island. in case you look at a number of the questions that are asked right here it is likewise somewhat sparkling that maximum people who stay outdoors the island do no longer know the version & extremely do no longer care one way or the different. for occasion, i grew to become into conversing with a colleague, her companion has a visa for the united kingdom, they're somewhat limited in the place they might pass. She had to pass to Dublin and grew to become into upset to benefit his visa does no longer conceal it, she did no longer know something with reference to the georgraphy or political make up of the island till she spoke to me. She had chosen Dublin via fact there have been much inexpensive flights & it grew to become into close.
