On one side of me i have i think 4 men mid twenties/early thirties i would say. they aren't exactly noisy but want for a better word are slobs, rubbish, beer cans everywhere puking in the back garden at 4 am( thats one of the girlfriends)swearing at all hrs, they are renting and hope will be gone soon. Have you undesirable neighbours? ( i'm no angel but i respect my surroundings)

My brother had a similar problem. He contacted the owner of the next property and told him that, every time he was woken by the neighbours, the owner would also be woken up by a phone call. The property owner thought this very unreasonable so my brother suggested that he might prefer a broken window to broken sleep and then offered to break a pane for for each disturbance (when the occupants were out of course).

The problem was quite swiftly resolved and the noisy occupants were moved on as soon as the grief they were causing was shared with the person making money from them.

The alternative is, of course, the law. Unfortunately, it is very slow and means that you will have to gather lots of evidence leading, perhaps, to an ASBO. On the way towards that goal, you might find that sending your local environmental health dept. a letter alerting them to your situation, would get the ball rolling, as they can take action if part of the problem is loud music.

An additional problem can arise when the problem neighbours get wind of your intentions and then deliberately victimise you.

I wish you luck.

Yes we do have a very unsociable neighbour on our street, she has two children who she constantly screams and shouts at, has drunken parties most of the weekend, if it isn't her coming out and been sick in her yard then its her scum bag guest doing it, we got so fed up of it we rang the landlord and told him either he sorts her out or we will, by that we mean getting solicitors involved and suing the landlord because we have had enough of the scum he puts in that house, we also contacted the welfare over her screaming at her kids and she had a visit from them a few weeks ago and she does seem to have calmed down on shouting at her kids a bit, but we had good news today, the landlord is evicting her for none payment of rent and she will be out by Christmas, yippee we might just get some sleep again now.

God, I have neighbours from hell. I live in a semi-detached house and this rich, arrogant old b*tch moved in next door to me 4 years and has been nothing but trouble from the second she arrived.

She began by hammering on our wall at midnight for no apparent reason. When I went to complain, she slammed the door in my face!

Then she put windchimes outside her house in the back garden and the bloody things were ringing all night and keeping me awake. I asked her to remove them, which she did. But she came to my door next day with a bottle of wine, arrogantly lecturing me about "finesse." The nerve of the cow.

Now, the swine has moved into the back bedroom so she can tap on the wall at all hours and keep me awake. I hope they move soon. Can't stand them.

Since they are renting, did you try to call the landlord. He probably would not want his property disrespected in that matter. Also, most communities have a noise and dumping ordnance. Ours is no beer cans off your property and no noise on weekends after 12:00. I have a bad neighbor and it is very hard dealing with him.

In one of my houses, the neighbour isn't that nice.
He screams and shouts at his wife all day, he never works and lets his teenage daughter play really loud music and have mates over any time of the day or night.
Its rather upsetting isn't it?
