My ancestors got booted out of Scotland to make room for sheep, and I'm not pissed at anybody. I say that the past is the past, we all have legitimate gripes, now shut the **** up and get back to work.

I totally kind of agree with you. I believe that most of the racism they experience today they bring upon themselves.

Well ..theres a difference between getting booted out of someplace you live (which is bad) And going through the ordeal that they went through. If you really dont know about that..i suggest you do some research.
At least im glad you didnt ask "why are ALL blacks"? because a lot of them arent. Some of them might have had direct answers who were in slavery and have heard stories which is why they have hatred in them... But also if you think that racism is gone now (not just towards black) then i feel sorry for you... there are plenty of blacks who still get treated like crap (mostly depends on where you live) ... which is a reason why those feelings they have didnt diminish.

But i also agree... Some of them just like to hold grudges and need to realize that most of us now adays have no connection, emotionally, mentally or belief wise to the ancestors of that time.

No, cupcake, you shut the f*&^ up. You have no right to determine how anyone else chooses to view their past or present. You are advocating to ignore the past....I believe that word is a verb for the adjective ignorant. In case you went to sleep in school, it is common knowledge that history has a way of repeating itself. And by the way it is not only Blacks who are pissed off about the histor and current presence of racism. I am also pissed off about what happened to Jewish people under the Nazis. So you go ahead and get back to work and ignore the rest of the world if you so choose. As for me, I choose to care about all people who are harmed by racism and hatred.

Racism is still here, some black people act in ways that perpetuate the stereotypes and when they get subpar treatment due to their actions they cry racism. There are also the black people who abide the law, go to college, and work jobs who believe that the best man should win. The fact that the United States is racist doesn't keep me from striving to reach my goals. It inspires me, because if no one can deny I am the best, I have conquered racism. Until I am driving my BMW and get pulled over all the time for nothing but to have my info entered into a police computer, something that happens a lot in Columbus, Ohio.

History is history..... we can't change it. Unfortuantely, people's thoughts and feelings don't always change either! While I agree with you in theory, there will always be those that share the feelings of the past and THAT'S what bothers the oppressed! Not WHAT happened, but how some ignorant people still feel today that belief was CORRECT! I'm Jewish, and you know how many anti-semetic people there are in the world, who believe that Hitler was correct. We can't change history, but some people just don't learn from it either.

It's easy to be critical when you're in the majority. Try being in the minority and see how it fits!

Much of the racism they faced then they are still confronted with now--not only that but the effects of the way they were and still are treated is astounding. Your ancestors may have had to leave Scotland but were they kept as slaves and beaten into submission? Did they spend their entire adult lives trying to fight for their rights to be treated as equal. Talk to an African American senior citizen and then talk to an African American University student--their stories will most likely be strikingly similar!!!!

have you read the black history of race> there is a HUGE difference from being kicked out and being taken from your birth land and enslaved. A lot of them are there ONLY because their ancestors were stolen from their home land JUST to work for the white people in the USA.
so I can fully understand why their are peeved off. I am sorry you do not,

Because Liberals are agents of the Right Wing. Their ideology was invented by preppy snobs who despise and fear everyone who wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Obviously, any advocacy group that fills those they pretend to care about with bitterness and permissiveness really wants to destroy them. Imagine filling your children with resentment while at the same time making excuses for every wrong and self-destructive thing they do. Would you be a good guardian?

Like everyone else, Blacks are brainwashed to worship the rich. So when they saw rich boys adopting their cause, they foolishly felt that these were White Knights coming to save them from the majority. It's tragic that this energetic race was so misled by those who secretly want to turn us all into slaves.

Well...my ancestors were sold by their own people, and to make life worse, the Whites used color to keep us down and to make life even More worse, we hate each other for it in the present time, and still get mistreated. This is a bit different from your sheep tale.

I have often wondered this myself. Most black people of today act as if it was our fault that their ancestors were treated the way they were. Hey, I was not even here. They also love to play that Ace Card, but you let some white person try to play it and they will jump you like white on rice.

Blacks in the US will always have somebody or something else to blame for their lack of success in our society and their ridiculously high crime rates and broken families.

But if you look at US blacks behavior and compare it to those of their African cousins, the similarities are striking. Matriarchial, single parent households are the norm in Africa, violence and crime are rampant and generally physicality is required for survival (explains why so many athletes in the US are black).

Its not really the "legacy" of slavery keeping blacks down in the US, so much as it is people who never evolved the skills necessary to live in a complex society being transported to live in one via slavery.
